Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) has officially launched a new Big Data system, marking a strategic shift toward data-driven governance. By transitioning from periodic reporting to real-time operations, the corporation aims to streamline decision-making across its port, shipping, and logistics divisions. This digital transformation project aligns with VIMC’s technology development goals to boost competitive capacity.
The initiative utilizes a Data Lakehouse architecture to integrate and standardize fragmented data from member enterprises, focusing on production, finance, customer, and human resources. VIMC has also implemented an Intelligent Operations Center (IoC) featuring nearly 100 multi-dimensional dashboards. This infrastructure enables leadership to monitor performance, identify operational bottlenecks, and optimize resource allocation across the supply chain.
Moving forward, VIMC plans to expand this platform by integrating external data sources and incorporating artificial intelligence and machine learning. These future applications will focus on forecasting market demand, optimizing fleet scheduling, and analyzing customer behavior. This transition aims to build an intelligent management ecosystem capable of proactive forecasting and enhanced efficiency.
