The Port Authority of València (PAV) Board of Directors has updated its Environmental and Energy Policy to align with its Strategic Plan 2035 and Net Zero Plan, reinforcing decarbonisation across the entire supply chain. This strategy seeks to embed sustainable management responsibilities throughout the organization, extend ethical commitments to companies operating in the public domain, and engage customers, suppliers, and stakeholders in the port and logistics sector.
To support this environmental transition, the board approved launching a tender for a new 110-megawatt substation with a budget of €15.6m, co-financed by the European Commission via the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF). This infrastructure will double the port’s power capacity to ensure maximum operational reliability and environmental sustainability while calculating carbon footprints and managing environmental risks.
Additionally, the board approved an agreement with the City Council of València to establish a training and development centre for water sports at La Marina, selected Valencia Innovation District for the EFO 16 Building concession, and authorised a substantial amendment for Bersolaz Spain to expand aquaculture facilities in the Port of Sagunto by 39,785 sq m.
