Pilbara Ports has set a new annual trade record for the 2025-26 financial year, handling 804.1m tonnes of imports and exports across its facilities. This surpasses the previous 775.7m tonnes record set in 2024-25, marking the largest year-on-year increase since 2017-18 and generating an estimated $150bn in export value.
The Port of Port Hedland led the total throughput with 580.4m tonnes, followed by the Port of Dampier at 178.3m tonnes and the Port of Ashburton at 45.2m tonnes. Commodity breakdowns show total iron ore exports climbing to 759.4m tonnes, alongside 26m tonnes of LNG and 5.3m tonnes of salt. Additionally, the network facilitated 9,499 safe vessel visits during the annual period.
