Orient Overseas Container Line held a naming ceremony for OOCL Grace, its second 24k TEU methanol dual-fuel container vessel, at the shipyard of Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co., Ltd. Named by Ms. Annetta Duan, Global Logistics Director of Hayco Group, the vessel is the second of seven 24k TEU methanol dual-fuel container vessels built by NACKS for OOCL.
This series follows the successful naming of the first vessel, OOCL Wisdom, in May and its green methanol bunkering and maiden voyage to Europe in July. Mr. Peter Pan, Director of Trades and Member of the Executive Committee of OOCL, noted that the company remains committed to expanding, greening, and digitalizing its fleet to optimize capacity deployment and network configuration.
In addition to fleet expansion, OOCL received two awards at the 2026 Singapore Environment Achievement Awards ceremony on Aug 26, 2026, including the Overall Outstanding Achievement Award – Regional and the Award for Innovation & Design. Organized by the Singapore Environment Council, the SEAA recognize OOCL’s comprehensive approach to sustainability, operational excellence, next-generation vessel technologies, and commitment to decarbonization across its global operations.
