Kalmar has officially launched an upgraded version of the T2i terminal tractor, expanding its manufacturing footprint to the Shanghai production line. This updated solution is designed to meet the evolving needs of global partners by combining established reliability with enhanced efficiency and advanced production capabilities. The expansion into the Shanghai facility is intended to streamline the supply chain for international markets while maintaining the high performance standards of the T2i series.
The upgraded T2i model introduces significantly more safety features and a broader range of options compared to its predecessors. Key technical improvements include optimized transmission software for better efficiency and improved hydraulics, which allow for faster 5th wheel lifting and lowering speeds. The vehicle also features a reinforced heavy-duty steel frame for maximum durability and a redesigned cabin with a focus on ergonomics, visibility, and noise reduction to improve the operator experience.
According to Thor Brenden, President of Terminal Tractors at Kalmar, the new production line supports the delivery of machines that offer more choice and safety without compromising on the reliability expected by industry partners. The T2i remains a core component of Kalmar’s portfolio for port, yard, and distribution logistics operations worldwide.
