A.P. Moller – Maersk has entered an agreement to divest Maersk Training and its subsidiary Maersk H2S Safety Services to industrial carve-out specialist Open Gate Capital, with the transaction remaining subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. This strategic move aligns with Maersk’s ongoing focus on developing its core logistics brands while allowing Maersk Training and Maersk H2S Services to continue their market growth under new ownership with a dedicated focus on safety and workforce competency solutions.
For more than four decades, Maersk Training has delivered specialized training, competence development, and safety services across the energy, maritime, renewables, and logistics industries to help customers manage operational risk. Meanwhile, its subsidiary Maersk H2S Safety Services operates as a global provider of gas detection and safety services for off- and onshore energy sectors.
Until the transaction officially closes, which is expected later in 2026, Maersk Training will continue operating as part of A.P. Moller – Maersk, ensuring business as usual for all employees, customers, and partners throughout the transition period.
