Konecranes is extending its Predictive Services globally to cover Konecranes Rubber-Tired Gantry Cranes (RTGs) and Konecranes Rail-Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMGs). This expansion builds upon the existing platform previously launched for Konecranes Gottwald Mobile Harbor Cranes (MHCs). The service enables terminal operators to apply data-driven insights across their fleets, helping to reduce maintenance costs and lower spare-parts inventory requirements compared to traditional reactive approaches.
The predictive system utilizes vibration sensors installed on critical rotating components, such as hoist and trolley motors, gearboxes, and bearings, which are essential for yard crane availability. Operating data is collected and transmitted to Konecranes for analysis, with findings and exception reporting delivered to customers through the yourKONECRANES portal. This allows maintenance teams to execute targeted interventions, prevent extended downtime, and plan spare parts requirements more effectively.
