Kalmar and APM Terminals have established a strategic partnership to advance the development of next-generation terminal technology and ensure resilient, safe terminal operations. This collaboration brings together equipment and software capabilities with operational and technology expertise to shape future terminal automation through joint initiatives.
The partnership focuses on two core areas: joint software development and deployment of the Kalmar One solution, alongside product roadmap alignment to deeply integrate APM Terminals’ operational know-how into the automation system. A key component of this initiative is creating shared value through an Automation as a Service approach.
APM Terminals currently deploys Kalmar One at its Pier 400 terminal in Los Angeles, California, which is the largest container port terminal in the Western Hemisphere. The collaboration aims to reduce complexity and enhance operational efficiency through a common platform across automated terminals, benefiting all current and future users of Kalmar One.
