InfraRed Capital Partners has agreed to acquire New Zealand-headquartered port logistics and materials handling platform C3 Limited from Brookfield through one of its value-add funds. The transaction backs C3’s existing management team to accelerate growth across Australian and New Zealand supply chains, leveraging InfraRed’s 15-year investment presence in the region to broaden service offerings across the export value chain.
The company delivers essential infrastructure and container logistics across 15 strategic port and inland sites throughout New Zealand and Australia, serving exporters in sectors such as dairy, agriculture, and energy. Notably, C3 manages critical port equipment and operations handling c.50% of container cargo at Port of Tauranga, the country’s busiest port facility.
Specialist materials handling for forestry remains C3’s largest operation, providing integrated terminal-to-vessel services that include log marshalling, debarking, chipping, and ship loading. Backed by key customer relationships exceeding 20 years, C3 currently handles approximately half of New Zealand’s total log exports, representing c.NZ$3.4bn in annual export revenue.
