HPC and Sellhorn Win Mogadishu Port Equipment Contract

Share:

HPC Hamburg Port Consulting, in a joint venture with Sellhorn Ingenieurgesellschaft, has been appointed by the Mogadishu Port Authority to oversee the next phase of equipment investments at the Port of Mogadishu, Somalia’s primary maritime gateway. Combining port operations and civil engineering expertise, the mandate focuses on providing advisory and supervision services for the procurement and implementation of critical terminal assets.

The scope of work includes reviewing technical specifications, evaluating tender documentation and bids, monitoring contractual milestones, and supervising the deployment of mobile harbour cranes, reachstackers, and cargo control equipment. In addition, the assignment encompasses strategic advisory on maintenance management and spare parts management systems to ensure that all new hardware integrates seamlessly into day-to-day operations and digital workflows.

The project builds on HPC’s established technical cooperation with the Mogadishu Port Authority as part of the facility’s broader modernization programme. The upgrade initiative is designed to boost cargo handling capabilities, improve operational efficiency, and establish long-term asset management standards to accommodate future maritime traffic growth.
