HHLA H1 2026 Financial Results Amid Operational Headwinds

Share:

Hamburger Hafen und Logistik AG (HHLA) reports a challenging first half of 2026, as operational disruptions from terminal modernisation, rail construction, and adverse winter weather impacted performance. Despite these pressures, group revenue increased by 3.0% to EUR 910.9m, while the operating result (EBIT) declined to EUR 51.3m compared to EUR 79.4m in the previous year.

Group container throughput fell by 6.7 percent to 2,959k TEU, and container transport volumes decreased by 1.2% to 985k TEU. The Port Logistics subgroup saw revenue rise to EUR 891.6m, though EBIT dropped to EUR 43.7m. Conversely, the Real Estate subgroup maintained stable performance with occupancy near full capacity, achieving revenue of EUR 24.2m and an EBIT increase of 11.0% to EUR 7.5m.

Due to the persistent operational challenges and ongoing macroeconomic uncertainties, HHLA has revised its 2026 forecast. The group now anticipates an operating result (EBIT) between EUR 150m and EUR 170m, while maintaining its investment programme of EUR 430m to EUR 480m to ensure long-term competitiveness.
