Cavotec has launched the PowerMove RoRo NxG, an advanced mobile cable management system designed to streamline shore power connections for RoRo and RoPax vessels. This next-generation platform builds on Cavotec’s established technology, currently operational in over 30 ports worldwide, to support the maritime industry’s transition toward cleaner, emission-free port operations.
The redesigned system introduces a more flexible mechanical architecture, featuring an enhanced telescopic boom and a wider dispenser geometry. These upgrades allow for greater positioning precision across a diverse range of vessel configurations and hatch locations. Operation is simplified through a new digital architecture and a user-friendly interface, enabling a single operator to manage the entire connection process via a ruggedized radio remote control.
The PowerMove RoRo NxG utilizes a standardized core structure that improves spare-parts availability and lowers lifecycle maintenance costs. The first units of this new system have already been delivered to the Port of Portoferraio in Italy, with four additional international ports scheduled for upcoming installations.
