APM Terminals and Hateco Partner for New Container Terminal in Da Nang

Share:

APM Terminals and Vietnam’s Hateco Group have signed an agreement with Da Nang City to develop and operate the Lien Chieu Container Port, a major infrastructure project in central Vietnam. The partnership combines APM Terminals’ operational expertise with Hateco’s local knowledge to establish a high-performing gateway for regional trade. This project is aligned with Vietnam’s National Strategy for Logistics Development, positioning Da Nang as a strategically prioritized logistics center to support economic growth across Vietnam and neighboring markets such as Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.

The project involves an estimated investment of over $1.7b to create a modern terminal capable of handling more than 5.7m TEU annually at full capacity. The development will be implemented in phases, with initial construction focusing on Berths 1 and 2, and the aim of going live in early 2029. At full build-out, the complex will feature up to eight deep-water berths capable of accommodating vessels of up to 18,000 TEUs, alongside container yards and multimodal links to rail, industrial parks, and the Da Nang Free Trade Zone.
