Actemium Launches New Maintenance Facility in Mauritania

Share:

Actemium Oil & Gas Mauritania has opened a new 2,000 m² repair and maintenance workshop at the Port Autonome de Nouakchott to support the Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) offshore gas project. Designed and delivered end-to-end by Actemium following a 2023 contract award by bp, this facility supports multi-technical maintenance activities for the offshore Hub (located 10 km offshore) and the FPSO vessel (located 40 km offshore). The GTA project stands as a major offshore gas development on the maritime border between Mauritania and Senegal, aiming to bring benefits to the wider regional economy and energy industry.

Fully operational since early 2026, the facility includes 1,000 m² dedicated to operational zones structured into mechanical, E&I, fabrication, office, and welfare areas. The workshop enables local maintenance, repair, overhaul, and inspection of critical industrial equipment—such as pumps, compressors, and valves—in full compliance with international safety and quality standards. Additionally, the site offers inspection, calibration, certification activities, and precision manufacturing, including machining, drilling, turning, and milling operations.

The completion of this project reflects over five years of development, backed by the VINCI Energies Group’s financial and human resources alongside the Maintenance Centre of Excellence teams. Construction began over a year ago, mobilizing more than 20,000 working hours with a peak workforce of 50 personnel, numerous suppliers, and subcontractors. Aligning with Actemium’s strict QHSE standards, the entire construction phase was completed with zero accidents.
