ShoreLink has announced a partnership with Caledonian Maritime Assets (CMAL) to deliver sustainable shore power solutions to Scotland’s vital ferry routes. Under this initiative, ShoreLink is equipping Kennacraig Port and Port Askaig with its RoRoLink Fixed solutions. Developed in collaboration with ABB, this project marks a major milestone in decarbonizing Scotland’s maritime infrastructure.
These ports serve as essential lifelines for the Isle of Islay and the inner Hebrides. The implementation of ShoreLink’s shore power solutions will significantly reduce emissions and noise pollution in these areas. The project directly supports CMAL in modernizing its fleet as Scotland moves toward Net Zero, ensuring a cleaner future for the Highlands and Islands.
