Single Bid Submitted for Port of Gdynia Outer Port Project

Share:

The bidder is the Polish subsidiary of Terminal Investment Limited (TIL), based in Gdynia with a share capital of 5k PLN, having officially taken over invited participant Mota-Engil Central Europe PPP Road from Kraków earlier this year. Ownership of TIL is tied to shipping giant MSC, which holds roughly 70% of the shares in the Italian-Swiss group, alongside the American fund BlackRock and Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund GIC holding approximately 10%.

The initiative is being developed under a public-private partnership (PPP) structure where the private partner will finance, build, operate, and maintain the terminal throughout the contract period. Built on reclaimed land extending into the sea, the Outer Port will feature a deep-water container terminal with an annual cargo handling capacity of at least 2.5m TEU, engineered to accommodate the largest ocean-going vessels entering the Baltic Sea.

Alongside the selection process, marine civil works are advancing on four sections of protective breakwaters spanning nearly 2.5 km to create a safe basin for the future facility. The structure utilizes reinforced concrete caissons, the first of which was installed on its foundation in July 2026, while technical planning continues for dedicated road and rail connections serving the site.
